Amazingly, we’re already more than half-way through the first trimester! Tomorrow we’re having our first scan, at which point we’ll get to check whether: a) there’s a heartbeat; b) it’s in the right place; and c) there’s more than one baby on board. Early scans are probably the only advantage of having to go through… Continue reading Seven weeks
Although I’m being spared any terrible nausea at the moment, I’m paying in other ways: I’m absolutely exhausted, but I’m having real trouble sleeping at night. It’s just after 7am and I’ve been awake for a couple of hours – I had a horrible dream about losing the baby, and then I couldn’t get back to sleep. This is so stressful.
We’re spending the day with Davey and Carla, checking out the vineyards around Matakana and Warkworth. It’s lovely – gorgeous sunshine, nice people and (I’m told) delicious wine. And fortunately for the others, I’m the sober driver. Given that I have barely had alcohol at all this year, I don’t mind not drinking, but it… Continue reading Sober driver
